The second production unit of the Moehs group is located in Polanco, a small town on the Spanish north coast, near the city of Santander. The total area of the Moehs Cántabra, S.L. plant is 51,500m², of which 8,000m² are occupied by the production and finishing unit. Next to it, there is an area of 4,000m² reserved for the future construction of a similar building.
The wastewater treatment plant occupies 6,500m² allowing to cover the present needs and anticipating those of the imminent expansions of the complex.
Administrative, service and analytical buildings and warehouses complement the facilities the plant, which is surrounded by a pleasant green area of 17,000 m².
Synthesis
The Synthesis facilities of this first phase consist of several multi-purpose stainless steel and enameled reactors, with capacities from 4,000 to 16,000 liters and a volume of reaction 368 m³, centrifuges and grinding columns for solvent recovery.
Pilot plant
Following the same engineering concept as at MOEHS CATALANA, MOEHS CÁNTABRA consists of 6 crystallization units and 7 finishing units – all insulated clean rooms equipped with filtered air overpressure- with practically the same equipment and, obviously, operating in accordance with cGMP.

The Moehs Cántabra plant has been designed to progressively expand its industrial capacity to reach 500 m³ with eventual processes based on special technologies.
